Fresh spring air, good music, and kind strangers.
Those are just a few things you’ll find at all the spring/summer music festivals coming up, and one does not attend without unleashing their inner hippie. So, what better way to express that free spirit of yours than to be dressed in some of the cutest, most comfortable, and freeing garments from two of my personal favorite brands, Wildfox Couture and Free People. Both brands have revealed their Spring 2012 lines and they are definitely for the modern hippie. Wildfox’s White Label spring line is visually appealing with lots of pastels, maxi skirts, cropped tops, all-american prints, and of course, nothing says hippie more than a little bit of fringe here and there.
Free People is going in the very same direction with their spring line. As you will see on their website they display lots of lace, crochet tops, high waisted pants, fringe, and delicate accessories to pull your hippie look together like their Sadie Suede Headband. Both brands are fun, modern, and colorful. They are perfect for some of the biggest music festivals. One of the most famous being Coachella, which is known as the modern day Woodstock. So, let’s take it back to late 60′s and don’t be scared to experiment with prints and textures. Let the past be your inspiration then add your own modern style to it.
You could layer up a white lace crop top or a beautiful maxi dress with a fringe vest and colorful bangles or feathers in your hair.
Try out some printed pants and match it with a simple top then make it stand out with a bright colored head-wrap or an oversized hat. Either way you’ll feel fashionable, comfortable, and ready to take on the summer heat and the music. Don’t forget, just because it’s been done before doesn’t mean you can’t bring it back. Make sure you express your personal style while keeping up with this fun trend! Until next time my little Joplins!
