Fashiontography Review
For this weeks Fashiontography, I selected a photo that was a little different from the first one. Something soft and romantic.
Overview
This photograph was shot for an issue to show off Vera Wangs Gowns collection. With the help of Visonari photographers, they were able to create a serene ambiance. The model seems so composed and calm as she models the gown, proving that the model/photographer chemistry was good.
Factors
Lighting: Since this was a shoot for wedding gowns, using soft subtle lighting was the best way to go. It was executed perfectly. They were able to use the natural light of the sunset to capture that romantic atmosphere.
Location: The location was said to be at the Hawaii Polo Club. The garden setting accentuated the romantic theme.
Retouching Elements: There were some nice editing decisions in this photograph. As you can see, they able soften the colors in the photograph, so it wasn’t so harsh. Also, blurring the background was a great way to draw attention to the model.
WOW Factor: I think the wow factor in this fashiontography was the gown. All the factors tied well into drawing attention to the fashion presented in the photo. Using props like the bouquet of flowers was also a nice touch.
